Gameweek 7 Preview

A look forward to gameweek 7 in Eliteserien after the players finally got a midweek off. They should be refreshed and ready to go for another week with a midweek round.

Saturday 11th July

Haugesund v Molde (Away win)

The champions have still not quite hit full stride, but they have been rotating their front 3 a lot, and still have won 5 out of 6 and are unbeaten.
Haugesund have won only twice, against Start(15th) and Sandefjord(13th), losing their two toughest games against Glimt and Brann.
I think we might finally see James and Ohi play together this weekend, and Molde should score some goals again. Defensively weakened, so possibly no clean sheet, so goals in the game expected.
Molde are evens to win, which is incredible value, I'll be on that. they have won the last six times these two have met in the league.
Molde averaging 7 corners a game away, Haugesund averaging over 5 at home, so will be looking at that too.

Bet Builder: Molde to win, over 2.5 goals in the game, over 9.5 corners,

Goalscorers I like: James(Molde) and Velde(Haugesund)

Rosenborg v Strømsgodset (Home win)

Rosenborg might finally be improving and against a Godset side that have not looked good so far. Godset have conceded 2 in all 3 of their away games so far, against Start, Stabæk and Sarpsborg. So RBK to score at least 2 here expected.
RBK cross the ball a lot, so corners can be looked at here too, particularly like first half corners.
Godset aren't scoring a lot from open play, RBK kept it nice and tight last weekend to win at Stabæk.
Torgeir Børven will be after his first RBK goal Saturday, I fancy him to get it.
A threat perhaps on the counter for Godset is Moses Mawa using his pace on the left hand side, especially when Hedenstad goes forward from right back, which he does often.

Bet Builder: RBK to win and score 2 or more goals, 3 or more first half corners, Børven to score

Goalscorers I like: Børven(Rosenborg) and Mawa(Strømsgodset)

Sunday 12th July

Aalesund v Glimt (Away Win)

Bottom v top here, and goals galore in both sides. Glimt have 24, Aalesund have scored 9 and conceded 19 in 6 games.
Glimt have been leading 5 out 6 games at half time, so I like them to be leading at the half, also to score at least 2, and in both halves. Kasper Junker has 8 in 6 games, he will be looking to score again.
Aalesund though are a threat going forward, so both teams to score is likely, as Glimt commit so many men in attack.
Expecting loads of cross from Zinckernagel and Bjørkan, so corners as well is likely. Aalesund get in a lot of cross balls too now with their wing back system.
Can't see anything other than an away win, and Glimt scoring goals.

Bet Builder: Glimt to win the first half, over 9.5 corners, Glimt to score in both halves, both teams to score

Goalscorers I like: Fridjonsson(Aalesund) and Junker(Glimt). Special mention for Berg(Glimt) who has higher odds than he should on bet365(17/2 anytime).

Kristiansund v Stabæk (Home win)

Kristiansund are playing well and are a really good bet at home to a young Stabæk side. Two home games so far, nine goals scored, four against. So goals expected again! Pellegrino in great form with 7 so far.
Kristiansund attack at home, and will be looking at corners for them here. 6 and 8 in their two games at home so far.
Stabæk have scored in both their away games so far, and they created good chances on the break at Molde. Expecting more of the same here, they have good pace and energy in the team which could cause trouble, particularly in the second half where KBK lost a 2 goal lead last week.

Bet Builder: Kristiansund to win, over 2.5 goals in the game, Kristiansund over 5.5 corners, both teams to score, a goal in both halves

Goalscorers I like: Pellegrino(KBK) and Edvardsen(Stabæk)

Mjøndalen v Vålerenga (Draw)

Two sides expected to be strong defensively at the start of the season, although no clean sheets in the last 4 gameweeks between them.
Probably not a high scoring game expected, but value in the both teams to score.
Expecitng the right hand side of Vålerenga to cause trouble, Dønnum and Borchgrevink linking up well they will create chances for, maybe a first start here, Stokke up top after his goal last week.
Two midfielders who like a booking, Shala and Aasmundsen.
Mjøndalen unlucky to lose against Molde last week, will be looking to bounce back and are usually strong at home.
Two sides that quite like a yellow card, Vålerenga particularly.

Bet Builder: Mjøndalen to win or draw double chance, Shala to be carded, both teams to score, over 3 cards in the game.

Goalscorers I like: Ibrahim(Mjøndalen) and Stokke(Vålerenga)

Sarpsborg v Start (Home win)

Sarpsborg finally got a win last week, hammering Sandefjord. Start yet to win and I think that wait could go on. Sarpsborg confident, and now Strand Larsen finally got a goal, I fancy him to score again.
Start have struggled for goals in the last few weeks, just 1 in 3 games. Sarpsborg get a lot of corners at home, definitely looking at corners here. The previous away game Start kept it tight with 5 at the back, so I am not looking at goals in this one.
If Schulze and Ramsland are back properly for Start, I think they should manage to get a goal this week, but their fitness is in question.

Bet Builder: Sarpsborg to win, Larsen to score, over 10.5 corners in the match

Goalscorers I like: Larsen(Sarpsborg) and Schulze(Start)

Viking v Odd (Home win)

Two teams not firing, particularly since Odd have lost Børven they look lost for ideas up top. Viking look more lively up top with Berisha, Høiland and Bytyqi, who looked very lively off the bench last week. Auklend a super exciting youngster might start this week, and I think they will win.
Hard to see where Odd will get their goals just now, two games without scoring since Børven left, it was 9 goals in 2 games before that.
Likely to be a tight game with not many goals.
Neither side card happy, or been getting loads of corners, but perhaps in a low scoring game, corners could come in.

Bet Builder: Viking to win, under 3.5 goals, over 9.5 corners

Goalscorers I like: Høiland(Viking) and Lauritsen(Odd)

Brann v Sandefjord (Home win)

Can only see a home win here, Sandefjord haven't won since first day, and haven't scored in last 4 games.
Brann lost 5-0 at Glimt last week, so are slightly overpriced as a result. Can see Koomson having a good day, and Bamba is due a goal.
The only way Sandefjord scoring is from a set piece probably. Brann have good height to deal with that.
Can see Palsson getting frustrated and picking up a yellow for Sandefjord.
Brann to score at least 2 goals in the game is what I fancy.

Bet Builder: Brann to win and score over 1.5 goals, Bamba anytime, under 10.5 corners, Palsson to be carded

Goalscorers I like: Bamba(Brann) and Gussiås(Sandefjord)

NAP of the weekend: Molde to win

NB: Glimt to win the first half

    1. At the moment I don't know enough about players in Division 1, but maybe later on in the season, or into next season when I know more I can start to write about it or maybe talk about it in some podcast form more regularly.
